Interjection

Interjections are words which can be used independently (that is, without any surrounding sentence for context), which typically express a spontaneous reaction or an exclamation of emotion. For example:

Oh my! or Oops!

Look out!

As mentioned above, interjections can be used on their own as standalone sentences. However, it is also possible to use interjections within a larger sentence (usually at the beginning) for the same effect.

Edee! Behchı̨ı̨̀ ekǫǫ̀!

Look out! There’s a car!
